New York City (1933) [Hennesey Street] | MCU Location Scout

Mayoral rally outside Ben Reilly's office.

With no power comes no responsibility.

Spider-Noir was filmed on the backlots of two major studios, Warner Bros. and Universal Studios. Warner Bros. has two separate backlots, the smaller neighborhood area called Hennesey Street and the more metropolitan New York Street. This is the former. Hennesey Street has been used for period pieces, like Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD‘s time traveling adventures, as well as Daredevil (2003), Spider-Man (2002), and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).

Laundry Alley, New York (Episode 1)

An initial montage of The Spider’s exploits opens with the character landing in an alley strung with clotheslines and emerging as Ben Reilly, Private Investigator.

This is the show’s introduction to the Hennesey Street alley, a versatile dead-end alley used this season for Ben’s Apartment exterior, Hooverville, and several other locations.

Ben Reilly’s Office (Episodes 1-5 & 7-8)

The office of Ben Reilly is an oft-seen location throughout the season. While the interior was filmed on a soundstage, the exterior was a redecorated façade on the east side of the Hennesey Street backlot.

Ben’s In-Universe address, according to his business card, is 451 E 28th Street, New York.

Millie’s Diner, New York (Episodes 1 & 5)

After getting off a subway, Robbie meets with Ben at a local diner. Millie’s would also host Ben with Cat and Janet in episode 5.

Perhaps this diner is Ben’s favorite because it is literally across the street from his office building, not that that’s ever seen explicitly in the show. The diner set is on the west side of Hennesey Street.

Hooverville, New York (Episodes 2-3)

In search of a story, Robbie investigates a “hooverville,” a makeshift shantytown built by destitute and unhoused people during the Great Depression.

This was another redressing of the Hennesey Street alley, complete with dirt floor and tin sheds.

Carmedy’s Apartment, New York (Episode 3)

Tracking down the man who originally hired him, Ben ends up at a small apartment at the In-Universe address of 756 W 57th, where he finds Caremedy, aka Hicks.

This façade is tucked into the northwest corner of Hennesey Street and the street that contains the alley.

Sidewalk Peanut Vendor, New York (Episode 3)

Picking up a tail from one of Silvermane’s men, Ben loses the man by a peanut vendor, with the help of young Frankie.

This sidewalk and corner are at the north end of Hennesey Street, and a few doors up from Millie’s Diner.

Eamon’s Bar (Episode 7)

In episode 7, Ben gets blind drunk in a local bar. He ends up fighting five toughs when they begin making fun of The Spider.

This location is an underground bar built off the Hennesey Street alley, on the south side. The sequence includes a great oner where Ben walks up and out of the bar, puts on his mask, and then returns to fight the disrespectful men.

Robbie Robertson’s Apartment (Episodes 1-2 & 7-8)

Robbie Robertson is seen several times in his apartment, but the exterior is only seen in episode 8 as Lonnie Lincoln leaves, beginning his new life.

While the interior of the apartment is a soundstage set, the exterior was filmed outside a façade on the northeast side of the Hennesey Street alley.
