Establishing shot of New York, 1933.

Someone once asked me what universe this was.

Spider-Noir, set in 1933 (with a couple of flashbacks to 1927), features digital matte paintings to create the skyscrapers of the city that never sleeps. All the footage appears to be circa 1933, based on the inclusion of the Empire State Building, which wasn’t completed until 1931.

The second and fourth images below appear to be the same footage of the Hudson River side of Manhattan, with one being at night and the other being during the day.
