Sidewalk

Stumbling out of the wreckage of an ambulance, Luke and Claire stagger along a sidewalk outside a women’s clinic.

Even though this sequence segues to the women’s clinic, it was filmed on the street one block south of the ambulance crash. Luke and Claire are walking north along the sidewalk in front of 431 Audubon Avenue in Washington Heights.

Exterior

Claire leads Luke into the basement entrance of the Harlem Women’s Clinic so she can get a look at the shrapnel currently tearing his nearly-invulnerable insides apart.

Finding this location was very much a fluke. Utilizing some old data collected during the filming of the season, which provided intersections near where the episodes were being filmed, I knew I was looking for a small courtyard or alley. This church courtyard, at the corner of Withers and Havemeyer Streets in Williamsburg, seemed to fit the bill. At the time of filming, this was seemingly disused, but a year later became a preschool or daycare.

The interior of the women’s clinic may actually have been filmed at the same location as the exterior, but that is difficult to confirm at this time.
