Town

Ben relates his tale about the horrors of war during his time in World War I.

France, in this case, is really Little Europe. That’s what Universal Studios calls this area of their backlot. It’s been used for over 100 years and is recognizable in Universal classics, and others, like Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Prison

Pushing into the town, Ben and his allies find a group of POW’s, which includes Addison and Flint, in a dirty prison.

Medical Compound

Freeing the prisoners, Ben and the other discover a ward of soldiers being experimented on. As Ben tries to free one man, he is bitten on the arm, changing his life forever.

Both the prison and the medical compound are unknown locations, but the assumption is that they were filmed on the Universal backlot to coincide with the town footage. Maybe some additional behind-the-scenes material will shed some light on their location someday.
