SSR Bureau Chief Sousa meets up with Detective Henry, who shows him a frozen body recovered from Echo Park Lake on the hottest day of the year.

Filmed at the actual Echo Park Lake, which has been seen in dozens of films and TV shows, including Chinatown. The production used visual effects to remove the skyscrapers now visible, and shift Los Angeles City Hall a bit so it was visible. The statue seen is officially titled “Our Queen of the Angels” and was erected in 1935, but it’s more familiarly known as “The Lady of the Lake.”
