ANT-MAN

Several aerial and establishing shots are used in Ant-Man to help establish the location of the film.

Coit Tower

Scott has a nice flyover of this historic San Francisco tower, just to remind you that they’re not shooting the movie in Atlanta, GA!

Oakland Bay Bridge

The city and bridge, as seen from Yerba Buena Island, serve as a transition shot in the film.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP

While more of the second Ant-Man film was filmed in San Francisco, there are still several establishing shots of the city. The two primary ones are above the Oakland Bay Bridge on the east side of town, looking into downtown proper.

SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS

After the prologue and 1996 flashback, the movie begins the present-day portions, introducing Shaun and giving a brief aerial tour of the city, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Coit Tower, the TransAmerica Pyramid, and the twisty portion of Lombard Street.

These landmarks are some of the most iconic and recognized elements of the city and have been seen in multiple films that take place in the city, including Ant-Man.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA

After the film opens in the Quantum Realm, the first shots of the city by the bay feature the Financial District, looking East. It features the iconic pyramidal Transamerica building on the left and the Brocklebank Apartments on the right side of the frame–an iconic location from Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo.

Later, the Financial District is shown again, looking West from over the Embarcadero with the giant Salesforce Tower in the center, the Transamerica building from the opposite side, and the Ferry Building in the lower right.
