Peter Quill runs outside crying after his mothers death and is abducted by the Ravagers. According to MovieMaps.org this sequence was filmed at the production’s home studio of Longcross. The exteriors look nothing like the area outside the hospital used for the filming of the interior, so this location is a good possibility for the exteriors.
