Luke lives above this Chinese restaurant after leaving Hell’s Kitchen (as seen in Jessica Jones Season 1). In episode 1, he tries to sneak around the side to avoid seeing Connie, his landlord, whom he owes rent. By the end of the episode, Luke protects Connie and her husband from Stokes’ men who are shaking down business owners for more cash. In episode 3, Luke is sitting with Connie in the front of the restaurant when Cornell fires a rocket into the building, demolishing it.

An existing Chinese restaurant, La Dinastia, at the corner of Broadway and W 171st Street, was used for filming Genghis Connie’s. For the destruction of the building in episode 3, a practical explosion along the perimeter was enhanced by digital effects, according to an article at DNA Info. The rubble created by the destruction was filmed elsewhere; see below.

At the conclusion of episode 3, Cottonmouth fires a rocket into the building, destroying it. Episode 5 has Luke cleaning up the rubble of the building.

No actual building was demolished for this sequence. The production filmed at the parking lot of Broadway Stages on 29th Street in Long Island City, creating a large pile of fake debris for Mike Colter to toss around.
