It’s not quite a monastery or a school. It’s a safe place for people who need a home.

Danny awakens in a large, airy bedroom with Colleen and discovers he is at Bakuto’s compound. Only later does he discover that Bakuto and Colleen are members of The Hand and are holding Madame Gao prisoner.

The Snug Harbor Cultural Center campus was used for the majority of scenes at The Hand’s compound. These buildings originally functioned as a retirement home for sailors during the 19th and 20th centuries, called Sailors’ Snug Harbor. But since 1976, they have served as a cultural center and botanical garden used by various cultural and arts organizations.
