House, Georgia (Back in the Day) | MCU Location Scout

Luke dressing in clothes that match his comic book alter ego outside a house in Georgia.

You look like a damn fool.

Having escaped from Seagate, Luke (then known as Carl) steals some wash from a drying line, creating a look reminiscent of his comic book alter-ego.

Sometimes it’s better not to have a clue where a scene was filmed, because it is just an unknown. In researching locations for this show, a Hollywood Reporter article quoted Mike Colter regarding this scene, “It was really cold that night, we were shooting in Queens, I was barefoot, we were in someone’s yard.” Queens! Ugh, so it was shot “in-town.” That meant that the idea that I was looking for a house in Queens was always in my head.

In a review of the areas surrounding other locations, I stumbled upon this “southern-looking” house in the middle of Queens, the Vander Ende-Onderdonk House (it’s actually New York City’s oldest Dutch fieldstone house, dating back to 1709). While there’s not much to go on from the screenshots from the episode, the white lattice panels are evident behind Luke on the right. The production filmed behind the house where there’s a lattice archway or seating area. It was a complete fluke to find this location, but immensely satisfying nonetheless.
