The characters of Wonder Man appear on several studio backlots throughout the course of the series. The show blends reality with fiction, making it unclear whether the backlots are meant to be at the same studio or multiple ones. Footage was filmed at Radford Studios in Studio City and at the famous Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

Radford Studios

Radford Studio Center is listed as the main production facility in the credits of each episode. It is a studio lot located off Ventura Boulevard and Radford Avenue in Studio City, CA. The office building at the main gate of the Studio was previously seen as an FBI Office in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Episode 1

Episode 1 begins with Simon exiting his shared trailer and heading to the set of American Horror Story. This was filmed on the Radford Studios backlot, beginning in the south section of the lot on the New York street. This street has been used on multiple shows and films, including Seinfeld and Brooklyn-99. Simon is also seen walking in front of a house along My Three Sons Way, before eventually heading into a soundstage.

Episode 4

Episode 4, the black and white episode focusing on DeMarr “Doorman” Davis, has several brief scenes in and around a studio. DeMarr and Josh Gad speak by a soundstage door. This is Stage 20 on the east side of the studio off of Gunsmoke Way. Later, Josh, DeMarr, and others are walking along a studio street between soundstages. This is Mary Tyle Moore looking East. The episode ends with Simon leaving a soundstage disappointed. It is assumed this is also one of the Radford Studio stages.

Episode 7

The penultimate episode of the series has Simon exploding inside a soundstage. While other moments of that episode were filmed at Paramount Studios, the wide shot of the explosion aftermath was filmed using Radford’s soundstage 3.

While Radford Studios is listed as the home base in the credits of the series, many of the shots around studio backlots take place at Paramount Studios.

Episode 2

Episode 2 featured Janelle riding around on a golf cart on Paramount’s New York Streets, all while urging Simon to get his self-tape in for the Wonder Man audition.

Episode 7

Episode 7 includes many more backlot sequences. Simon is driven around the backlot on a golf cart, traveling through the New York Streets.

Simon meets Trevor in the costuming department, and then both are seen in the makeup trailer.

Simon exits his trailer to meet Kathy Friedman (the entertainment writer). They chat in the parking lot outside the Rodenberry building, seen on the right-hand side of the image.

Trevor and Simon chat on Stage 10 (outside Stage 22), which appears to be a non-existent Stage on the Paramount lot.

Kathy meets up with the two of them again on 4th Street by Production Park as Simon attempts to awkwardly purchase a gift for Mara-in-wardrobe’s birthday.

Later, Simon and Trevor chat with Kathy outside Stage 23 on Avenue C near 3rd Street, looking North.

Simon takes a personal call outside Stage 20 on 2nd Street before heading with Trevor to meet Kathy in the Dining Room.
