The magic of movies!

A recurring flashback shows young Simon taking a “sick day” from school to watch the 1980s Wonder Man film with his father, Sanford.

They watch the Wonder Man movie at the Eagle Theater in Eagle Rock, a historic theater that is no longer in operation. In the first episode, the theater was only shown as an interior, but it is seen in full in episodes 7 and 8 as the flashback continues.
