Yakatomi Building, New York | MCU: Location Scout

Matt outside the Yakatomi Building.

Today, at the Yakatomi Building, I infiltrated Asano, the Japanese branch of Roxxon.

Elektra takes a meeting with Asani, the Japanese branch of the Roxxon corporation, at the Yakatomi Building in order to plant a virus on their servers.

Matt stops outside the Chelsea Arts Tower at 545 W 25th, which stands in for the Yakatomi Building. The name of the building appears to be a nod to Die Hard, and its Nakatomi Plaza.

Matt enters an alley and works his way up a building.

This alley is down the block on W 25th Street, just under the High Line on the north side of the street.

Building Rooftop

Matt climbs up to the top of a rooftop behind the Yakatomi Building to spy on Elektra’s meeting.

Matt stands on the southwest corner of 526 26th Street as he spies on Elektra. The wall he leans against appears to have been built for the show, as it wobbles a bit when Matt gets up to run away.

Roxxon Gala

In episode 6, Elektra picks up Matt so they can attend a swanky Roxxon Gala in order to steal a keycard from a Yakatomi accountant Stan Gibson.

It is assumed that this Grand Ballroom, as the security monitors indicate, was intended to be part of the Yakatomi Building seen in the previous episode. However, this sequence was filmed in a different location from the board room and the 13th-floor sequences. The Gala was shot in the Park Hyatt Onyx Ballroom, on W 57th Street in New York, which is often used as a wedding venue. The hotel website has a picture of both the ballroom and the stairway.

Men’s Room

Matt assaults Stan Gibson’s bodyguards in the men’s room and steal his key card.

It’s uncertain which of the various locations this men’s room sequence was filmed at. It is probably the same location as the Gala, since that’s where the actor playing Stan was last seen.
