The Griffith Hotel is a haven for proper young ladies.
Angie finally convinces Peggy to move into the apartment building she lives in, called The Griffith Hotel.
The hotel was based on the New York’s Barbizon Hotel for Women, located on 140 East 63rd Street, a location exclusively for women, much as is portrayed in the show.
Exterior
The Paramount Backlot, specifically the Brooklyn set, provides additional locations for the series, including the street view of the Griffith Hotel and several shots “across the street” from the Hotel. According to dialogue, the Hotel is on “63rd,” in-universe, giving even more credence to the origins of the Hotel.
The images below are presented with shots from the aired television episode, along with a behind-the-scenes version prior to visual effects. While one exterior in episode 3, with a suitor climbing a drain pipe, was filmed at the Clark Memorial Residence, other exteriors, specifically Peggy or Howard on the ledges, were filmed in a studio.

Interior and Alternate Exteriors
Some exteriors and Lobby interiors of the Griffith Hotel were filmed at the Mary Andrews Clark Memorial Residence on Loma Drive. Agents of SHIELD also filmed here in both Season 1 & 2. The upstairs hallway and rooms of The Griffith were all shot on soundstages.
