Welcome to the White House.

Sam, Joaquin, and Isaiah are invited to the White House as part of a world summit on the Celestial Island Treaty. Isaiah goes cuckoo for cocoa-puffs and (apparently) tries to assassinate President Ross. Several other scenes occur at the same location including a meeting in the Oval Office and a press conference in the Rose Garden.

But for one moment, let’s look at the invitation received by Sam. It shows the date as “Thursday April 16th, 2027.” That date in 2027 is actually a Friday. How difficult is it to get small details like this correct? It took me less than 30 seconds to check that out while writing this page!

Surprisingly, there are two replica versions of the White House in the Atlanta area. One on Briarcliff Road NE that is available for tours, and the second on the backlot of Tyler Perry Studios. This appears to be the latter one, with additional VFX surrounding the outside. The interiors also appear to have been filmed inside the replica.

Other exteriors of the White House, specifically the Rose Garden press conference, was filmed on some other studio or backlot, since the replica at Tyler Perry Studios doesn’t have either of the “wings” of the original White House. And of course, the destruction by Red Hulk is all visual effects based on digital models of the actual location.
