DAREDEVIL SEASON 1

The audience is introduced to Matt’s Gym, Fogwell’s, in the first episode of the series, as a dilapidated and shuttered building that he uses to train. It shows up in Episode 2 in a flashback to Matt’s father training, and again in the season finale when Matt brings Foggy to the location.

Since the very first appearance of this gym in Season 1, it has always been assumed that this was filmed in a soundstage, but that was the extent. During the research for Season 3, the exact soundstage at Broadway Studios in Brooklyn was identified. The Google Street View, below, shows the exterior of their stages on North Henry Street, in Greenpoint, where remnants of the “Fogwell’s Gym” letters are still visible on the windows.

DAREDEVIL SEASON 2

There’s only one appearance this season, which is a flashback to Matt bringing Elektra to the gym for some sparring and also heavy petting.

DAREDEVIL SEASON 3

Matt’s local gym doesn’t appear until three-quarters of the way through the season. It appears in a flashback when Maggie first meets Jack, and also in the present day when Matt makes his decision that he needs to kill Fisk. It also becomes the de facto location for Nelson & Murdock’s offices while they are being pursued by the Kingpin.

EXTERIOR (Episode 12)

After having a conversation with DA Tower about Nadeem’s testimony, Matt and Ray leave the gym in an attempt to make it to the courthouse unscathed. They decide not to travel in the NYPD vehicles, but in a cable installation van instead.

For this one and only exterior of the gym, the production filmed outside 40-20 22nd St, in Long Island City. Searching for any signs indicating a gym in this area will prove impossible, as this appears to be part of an art studio.
