Welcome to the Lighthouse, the world’s last bastion against the encroaching darkness.

While the lighthouse was introduced in the opening of this season, it took five episodes to understand that it was an actual lighthouse located on the shores of Lake Ontario. This real lighthouse contains a series of bunkers deep underneath it, constructed long before 2017, which survive the apocalyptic destruction of the planet into the year 2091. Its origin feels similar to the mysterious constructs of the island on the television series Lost.
