The Defenders series ends with Danny Rand believing Matt Murdock perished under Midland Circle as he crouches on the rooftop, taking up the mantle of protector of the city.

Danny is on top of a building in the Flatiron District, at approximately 6 W. 18th Street, based on the triangulation of the various buildings and water towers.
