Afterlife, Nepal | MCU: Location Scout

The official name is Chinese, I think. Lai Shi…doesn’t exactly translate. So we just call it Afterlife.

Skye is taken to the remote Inhuman sanctuary of Afterlife, where she recovers and is trained in her powers by Jiaying. Later in the season, she finds out that this same mysterious woman was butchered by Whitehall and is also her mother. Much of the second half of the season takes place in this location.

The production found a private estate known at the time of filming as Sortilegium. It has been slightly redesigned and is currently known as “747 Wing House.” Nestled in the hills of Malibu, this is very near where M*A*S*H filmed many of their episodes. Interiors of the various rooms and meeting areas were filmed on Stage 11 at The Culver Studios. 

While the location of the Afterlife retreat is never depicted on the show, according to Agents of SHIELD Declassified Season Two, it is located somewhere in Nepal.
