The Eternals have wiped out nearly all the Deviants by 575 BC and take up residency in Babylon, where they also choose to hide their giant spaceship.
As with scenes in other ancient lands, much of these scenes were shot on the Canary Islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura off the coast of Spain. The sequence in Babylon, along with the present day scenes in Iraq, appear to have been shot at the location below just outside the Barranco de las Peñitas ravine on Fuerteventura island.
Even though full shots of the city and the hanging gardens were accomplished digitally, small portions of the town, including the Ishtar Gate, were built on site. The rocky gorge, where Icaris and Sersi share their first kiss, was just East of the location in the Penitas Gorge, near Ermita de la Peña.
