The battle from Thompson Street bleeds over into Washington Square park and its distinctive arch. When Dr. Strange is threatened by Ebony Maw, his Cloak of Levitation whisks him through the Park, so Spider-Man follows North up 5th Ave., making a right turn on E. 8th Street.
The filmmakers shot background and reference footage in the park and the surrounding area to further realize the location, while principal photography was completed in Atlanta. Woodruff Park in Atlanta served as a stand-in for Washington Square Park in NYC.
