When Peter’s class visits the Washington Monument, during the Academic Decathlon trip, some Chitauri tech goes haywire and explodes, trapping a number of students. The majority of shots of Spider-Man on and around the monument were filmed at Pinewood Studios Atlanta, with background plates shot in Washington, DC.
