SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING

Ext. Midtown High School, New York

Two months after returning from Germany (and fighting against Captain America) in Captain America: Civil War, Peter has resumed his life of going to high school.

The Franklin K. Lane Educational Campus in Brooklyn is the exterior stand in for Peter’s STEM school. Peter is seen walking at the 75 St – Elderts Lane Train Station with the Campus in the background. The stairs from the Subway platform in the image below were added by the production.

The interiors for Midtown High were shot at Henry W. Grady High School in Atlanta. A Behind-the-Scenes image, posted at the bottom of this group, shows one of the hallways of the school for comparison.

Parking Lot – School Buses

While the parking lot behind the school appears to have been shot in New York at the Franklin K. Lane school, it was actually shot on a parking lot in Atlanta with the school building digitally inserted, according to Cinefex 154 . This would allow the production to perform the necessary special effects and stunts between Peter and The Shocker.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME

A brief shot shows Peter returning to his school campus after the battle and reuniting with his best friend Ned.

This appears to be Peter’s school from the Spider-Man films, but it does not look exactly like the interiors filmed in Atlanta for the previous films. That’s because the production filmed in the lobby of Franklin K Lane High School in Brooklyn. Big thanks to Michael for finding some supporting imagery of the school interior.

Franklin K Lane High School in Brooklyn returns in this film, as the interiors of Peter Parker’s school. The Gym, Hallways and classroom shots were all accomplished at this authentic New York high school. A youTube video shows the inside of the Gym from circa 2011.

The production one again returned to the Franklin K Lane Educational Campus for Spider-Man: No Way Home and the exteriors of Peter’s school.

Int. Midtown High School, New York

While the interiors of the school are shot at the same location as they were previously, Grady High School now goes by a different name. In December 2020 the name of the school was officially changed to Midtown High School (a coincidental name, being that it is in Midtown Atlanta) due to the former Henry W. Grady having been a white supremacist.
