Alexander Pierce High School (Framework) | MCU Location Scout

I’m loyal to Hydra. I’m just a teacher.

Classroom

Episode 15 had a brief moment introducing Coulson as a teacher in a classroom in the Framework. The following episode had further scenes at his high school, both in his 10th-grade classroom and in the parking lot outside.

It was originally uncertain whether this classroom was part of an actual school or built on a soundstage. After finding the exterior location below and comparing the interiors of the classrooms, it can be stated conclusively that this is not a classroom at that high school. It’s presumed that this is a soundstage due to the repetitive use of this location.

Parking Lot

Outside the classroom, Jemma has an encounter with Burnell, a student who believes HYDRA are the bad guys. She tells him to go with that feeling, and gives him her car–which he spraypainted. The school is named after Robert Redford’s character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. With the way the Framework works, it’s assumed that since HYDRA never fell, and he was in charge, he became a great hero.

This was a difficult school to track down. It never seemed too collegiate, but also contained older brick buildings, unlike many high schools in the area around Culver City. It was finally tracked down as being the parking lot at El Segundo High School on Main Street. This location also played a secondary school in Superbad.
