Matt heads to the penitentiary to discuss the case with Hector. He chastises Ayala for not telling him the truth about being White Tiger, saying again that he intends to win this case. In episode 8, Matt revisits the penitentiary to speak with Benjamin Poindexter, who may have some new information for him.

The real Riker’s Island is used for the establishing shot of the penitentiary, but the interiors are most likely filmed on a soundstage, specifically the Broadway Stages Staten Island, which was formerly known as the Arthur Kill Correctional Facility. This is the same location that played Ryker’s Penitentiary on Season 3 of the Netflix Daredevil show..
