Union City, Wyoming | MCU: Location Scout

I bought us a whole town.

Using money from Gideon Malick’s accounts, Hive purchases a derelict mining town in Wyoming to conduct his Kree experiments.

The production didn’t go that far. They took over several buildings in the town of Piru, CA (except the Union City Mining location, which was probably shot on a ranch somewhere nearby). The satellite map Coulson and Mack review is actually of Piru, CA. Agents of SHIELD: Season Three Declassified mistakenly identifies this town as being in Montana, not Wyoming.

Street

The end of episode 18 has Hive, Daisy, James, Alisha, and Radcliffe walking through the town north along Main Street towards Center. The following episode has Hive and Daisy walking along Center Street at Main.

Bar

While waiting for things to get going, Hive’s associates hang out in a local bar. Later, May infiltrates the bar from her hiding place across the street with Mack and manages to knock out James.

The production used 3945 Center Street as the building where they built the bar set. Mack and May spy on James from the park across the street at the corner of Center and Piru Square.

Union City Mining

The one location that wasn’t filmed in town, presumably due to the explosions used, is this one. This is presumed to be a local filming ranch (possibly the Piru Film Ranch off Holser Canyon Rd), but so far, there has been no success in tracking down which one it might be.

Playground

Alisha fights a big, nasty Kree warrior at a park located next to the train depot of Piru Square.

Church

The production filmed outside a real church in the town of Piru, but recreated the interior–including the detailed stained glass window–on a soundstage due to the stunt work needed for the scene.

Garage

Throughout the episode, Radcliffe performs experiments inside an abandoned garage in an attempt to recreate Inhumans. Daisy fights Mack just outside the garage at the end of the episode. The production used 3997 Center Street in Piru as the mechanic’s garage turned medical facility.
