If I don’t call off my men in the next 30 seconds, Dr. Andrew Garner, the ex-Mr. May, is a dead man.

Andrew Garner is stalked by some HYDRA goons, along with Werner von Strucker, as he shops in a convenience store before one of his classes. The location of the market is presumed to be West Virginia due to the Culver University campus being located in that state as well.

The sequence was filmed on the backlot of Warner Bros. Studios, primarily due to the explosive nature of the scene. It was filmed on French Street at the corner store, which also has a practical interior.
