Maveth | MCU: Location Scout

Maveth. One of its translations is actually, “Death by Punishment.”

In the first episode of Season 3, it’s revealed that Agent Simmons was sucked onto another planet, called Maveth, by the monolith at the end of the previous season. Maveth was seen in the following episode as Fitz used all his resources to rescue Simmons. It would show up two more times in the season, including the full flashback episode, “4,722 Hours.”

Rock Formations

Scenes for Maveth were filmed in two places. The rocky formations were part of the Trona Pinnacles, a series of rocky spires in the Mojave Desert. These pinnacles also appear in episode 21 in a dream of Coulson’s.

Sand Banks

The second location where scenes from Maveth were filmed is the PW Gillibrand Sand Quarry. This quarry was also used for scenes in Captain Marvel of the planet Torfa.
