I’d gone international, taking out mass murderers, gangsters, unspeakable monsters.

This sequel film opens with a montage of Deadpool taking out a number of bad guys all around the world, starting with a group of bad guys in a Hong Kong Penthouse.

The opening shot is wholly assembled of presumable stock footage of Hong Kong and other digital assets. The building which Mr. Pool is lounging atop is based on 1090 W Pender in Vancouver–which has since been demolished for a new high rise. This is also a location seen later in the film with Cable surveying the city from the roof. This location was discovered, in part, due to a quote from Cinefex 160 that mentioned the “backdrop [was] derived from rooftop photography of Vancouver.”

For those curious, the pink neon text reads “Deadpool.”
