The Essex House is an important location in the film, serving as the “clinic” Russell is sent to to be cured of his mutant powers, and the place where the final showdown between the Team Deadpool and Russell & Juggernaut.

The exteriors of the House were filmed at the Centre Lawn Building of Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam. It was a Canadian mental health facility up until 2012, when it was closed.

For the brief interior scenes inside Essex House the Crease Clinic building at Riverview Hospital was used. This same location was also briefly used in the first Deadpool film as partial interiors of the villains lab.

Finally, according to Cinefex 160, the interior of the auditorium, where the Headmaster talked to the students, was built on a soundstage in Burnaby.
