Stockholm, Sweden | MCU: Location Scout

Crowds gather in the sunken plaza of Sergel's Square located in Stockholm Sweden. Text: Sergel's Square, Stockholm, Sweden

Yesterday, 25 men were randomly assigned briefcases, and sent along 25 different routes here in Stockholm. The diamonds were still stolen.

Establishing Shot, Sweden

This image of Stockholm, which shows up partway through the episode, is taken from the south side of the town, looking across the water into Old Town towards the German Church, as filmed from the Hilton Stockholm Slussen.

As with the pilot episode, the production shot actual footage outside of California to give the series a more global feel. This is the second of three times that Agents of SHIELD would send their own cameras into foreign locations for an episode (after Paris from the Pilot, and San Juan, Puerto Rico in season 2). Any other future imagery of other states (minus the brief footage in Las Vegas later this season) or countries comes directly from pre-existing stock footage.

Many locations on SHIELD that look like real places are, in fact, cleverly crafted sets, shot at their home base of The Culver Studios. Shots of the Swedish Metro in Season 1, which contained any of the main cast members, were actually sets, according to the book Agents of SHIELD: Season Three Declassified.
