Actor Trevor Slattery, the patsy used as The Mandarin during Aldrich Killian’s war of terror, is visited by a reporter to give his side of the story. Unfortunately, the reporter is working for someone much more powerful who is quite upset at Trevor’s use of an alias. This short film was included on the Thor: The Dark World DVD.

SEAGATE PRISON

The prison shown in this short was thought to be a soundstage recreation, but it seemed a little too detailed to have been recreated. After some research and looking at pictures of disused jails (that also allowed filming) in the Los Angeles area, the Sybil Brand Institute was found. The images of the cell blocks available online closely match those seen in the show. This was a women’s prison on the east side of Los Angeles that was closed down after the Northridge Earthquake.

CAGED HEAT Locations

Trevor shows Jackson Norris footage from his television pilot called Caged Heat. There are two shots of his character on a rooftop, and one driving past a warehouse/loading dock with Russian text. These were also filmed at the Sybil Brand Institute, along with the interiors. The roof sections were filmed in the middle of the roof for the main prison, while the loading dock used the building’s loading dock at the Institute, just to the left of the main entrance.
