Various scenes in the movie have Peter show Peter, and others, in a New York business district. These include his first foray as Spider-Man, stopping some robbers, and the final attack and showdown with the Lizard at a corner subway station.

Any location with Starbucks, DKNY, Manolo Blahnik, Sephora, Dean & Deluca, or Bed, Bath & Beyond visible in the background is part of the backlot set built at Universal Studios. For this production, Universal altered their New York street facades to look more like modern New York City, which includes named businesses and scaffolding.
