In a reboot of the popular franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man once again follows Peter Parker as he is bitten by a radioactive spider during a field trip to Oscorp. He develops new powers which end up being helpful in trying to stop scientist Curt Conners from turning the city into a bunch of reptilian mutants. He also has to contend with the father of his new girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, who also happens to be a police captain.
