The Baxter Building (1994) | MCU Location Scout

Looking up the Baxter Building.

We have a lot of work ahead of us.

The Baxter Building houses Reed’s laboratory and workshop, where he has spent the last ten years waiting to reconnect with the comet Colossus and make things right.

The exterior and lobby for the Baxter Building were filmed at 618 Spring Street in Los Angeles. This is the old Los Angeles Stock Exchange Building, which has housed a nightclub called The Exchange LA since 2010. It was cleverly relabeled as “4444,” as a nod to the superhero team that works from the building.

MAP

For the wide shots of the Baxter Building, 444 Flower Street was used. An extra “4” was added to the address to make sure that everyone understood the Fantastic Four worked out of this building, and not The Avengers.

The futuristic interiors of Reed’s lab were built on the soundstages of Roger Corman’s studio in Santa Monica.
