In the opening scenes, Reed and Ben are seen living at Mrs. Storm’s Boarding House, where young Susan is infatuated with the college scientist. Ten years later, Reed and Ben return to offer Sue and Johnny a chance to travel into outer space with them.

This distinctive house is located on Manhattan Place in the Harvard Heights area of Los Angeles. It still looks today like it did back in 1993 when this movie was shot, and still has a distinctive tree out front as well. The interior can be seen on this Zillow listing.
