Victor and Reed in a college quad.

That’s it, class dismissed.

This film opens with a flashback to Reed and Victor attending an astrophysics lecture where they make plans to observe the Colossus comet, which is to pass by the Earth that very evening.

Classroom

While the name of the school Reed, Ben, and Victor are attending is never mentioned, State University (which is presumably in New York) is the school attended by Reed Richards in the comics. For scenes at the University, at least one shot is confirmed as being filmed at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. With as inexpensive a production as this is, these other locations are presumed to have been filmed on campus as well. Children of the 80s may recognize George Gaynes as the Professor. He played Henry on the kid show Punky Brewster.

Quad

Victor and Reed’s discussion continues outside the classroom in a quad by a pair of strange guys playing chess. This was filmed just outside the Foley Building by the Birthday Fountain.

Street View

Science Lab

That night, Victor and Reed enter a science lab to conduct their experiments. Victor is struck by an electrical discharge that appears to kill him. Reed is saved by Ben, who arrives in the nick of time.

Hospital

The hospital is presumed to be on campus, but might just be a nearby medical facility. Reed is told by a Doctor that Victor has perished. In reality, the doctor and his nurse are two citizens of Laveria who take Victor’s not-quite-dead body and resuscitate him.
