In this universe, Reed Richards and Ben Grimm were given access to some of the most unique technology and training available at the Baxter Institute. This allowed the young scientist to stretch beyond the boundaries of his small home and school. Here, he was allowed to create the thing that had plagued his dreams since childhood. Here, he would become the first human to teleport himself to another dimension.
The exterior of this school and scientific research center was filmed in the downtown section of Baton Rouge, at 150 3rd Street, though it masquerades as a building located around 754 5th Ave in New York at E 58th Street–according to the aerial shots below. When Dr. Allen arrives by car later, the building magically warps space to appear two blocks further east at Lexington Avenue.
The lobby was filmed in the lobby of this building, which houses the Watermark Hotel. The hallways of the institute and Reed and Ben’s room are presumed to have been filmed in the same location, based on the design of the windows.

These aerial photos, showing the explosion of the Matter Shuttle and the subsequent blacking out of Manhattan, place the Baxter Institute just off the southeast side of Central Park.

During his tenure of study, Reed finds himself spending much time in the library, a place where he would meet his future wife, Susan Storm.
His academic endeavors were aided by the LSU Middleton Library at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Details of the interior of this retro-looking location can be found through the Locations Hub website.

Dr. Storm meets with Dr. Allen and members of the Baxter Foundation board of directors and is told that he needs to start reproducing serious results as fate and destiny collude to create a new team of superheroes.
This opulent boardroom is decorated with portraits of notable scientists who have provided greater understandings of this universe. Whether that was set decoration at a real location, or just the art department enhancing a set on a soundstage remains clouded in the mists of time.

Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Victor spend much of their time building a giant Cymatic Matter Shuttle, which will take them to worlds unknown. The production’s use of this giant warehouse space is most certainly one of the soundstages at the Celtic Media Centre in Baton Rouge, where this movie was filmed.
