Reed Richards and Benjamin Grimm present their Cymatic Matter Shuttle to the world for the first time at this science fair held in the school gymnasium. It fails to impress the judges, but catches the eye of Dr. Franklin Storm, opening the future for this fantastic young man.

The gymnasium of the Oyster Bay Eagles is played, as so many gymnasiums have been, by an unsung hero. The mists of time have clouded the exact location of this school gym, but it is presumed to be in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and at the same school where the classroom sequences were filmed earlier in the movie.
