Jean is taken to a secret facility on Roosevelt Island where Metzger experiments on her (like he did her sister) to discover how her powers work.
The establishing shot of Roosevelt Island replaces the dilapidated Coler Memorial Hospital at the north end of the island with the DODC campus. The interior portions of the lab, where Jean is held, were filmed on a soundstage, but the rest of the facility was filmed at Dorchester Prison, aka HM Prison Dorchester. This includes the sequence with Spidey fighting the guards out front and the interior battle with The Hand.
