You know, when I was a kid, after the accident, I thought God had taken my sight.

Young Matt stands by a stained glass window of a church in this brief flashback. This is presumably meant to be Clinton Church, or the orphanage next door where Matt grew up.

It’s unclear if the production filmed at a real church window or some other location for this brief scene. Reportedly, there were more scenes with young Matt that were filmed for Season 1 but ended up getting cut with the creative overhaul.
