We have located the scientist.

Okoye and Shuri travel to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find the scientist that created the vibranium detector. They discover college student Riri Williams instead.

The production filmed on the campus of MIT. The scene with Riri walking across the campus quad was filmed by the Martin Luther King Jr. Gardens, on the south side of Stratton Student Center, while Okoye and Shuri are standing next to a car parked (on a walkway) on the northern side of the Student Center with the duPont Athletic Center in the background.
