Peter and his classmates are on a bus heading to a field trip when the alien vessel arrives over New York.

Second unit shots of the Queensboro Bridge were combined with footage shot of the actors on a soundstage to realize this moment, including a cameo by Stan ‘The Man’ Lee, as the bus driver.

Escaping the crowd of onlookers, Peter takes Michelle to a safe place at the top of the Queensboro bridge. Unfortunately, new crews in helicopters are already ahead of him.

While the actors were not really atop the Queensboro Bridge, background plates were shot around the Western-most tower on the Manhattan side of the bridge. The Roosevelt Island tram, featured in the 2002 Spider-Man film, is shown prominently in the background.
