The film opens with a sweeping camera move up over the Rocinha Favela, the largest slum of Rio de Janeiro where we see Bruce standing on the roof of one of the buildings. This film spent a portion of its schedule shooting in and around Rio de Janeiro, in an attempt to really capture the look. However all of the interiors of Bruce’s home were shot on a soundstage in Toronto. and not on location.
