Sanctum Sanctorum, New York | MCU Location Scout

I can’t believe I’m in the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Peter goes to get the help of Dr. Strange to create a spell to make the world forget that he’s Spider-Man. This leads to many unforeseen consequences, and turn Strange against Peter, who tries to do the right thing.

Due to the need to film lots of scenes in front of Dr. Strange’s Sanctum, this was not filmed in New York City, using only background plates. A facade for the Sanctum was erected outside one of the stages at Trilith Studios (similar to the setup in Avengers: Infinity War), with everything beyond the immediate steps and doorframe being created digitally. This evident in the street signs seen in the background. The street to Peter’s right, as he enters the Sanctum should be Sullivan Street, but in his first visit it’s labeled W 12th St, and later when he escapes with the magical box, W 4th St.
